Unheard of. This expression is probably the one that best describes the Ebola epidemic in West Africa for five months. So much so that Jane Liu, president of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), said that the world is "losing the battle" against the virus. "Leaders are not able to block this transnational threat," she said in a speech at the United Nations in New York, said in a statement received by AFP MSF.

The main countries affected by Ebola are Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, and over 1,500 people died from the disease. To date, the only treatment is called ZMapp. This is an experimental drug that has yet to be thoroughly tested to assess its effectiveness and safety.
